Young and old come together
Living Waters Lutheran School and the Old Timer’s Home in Alice Springs have made a connection, with Foundation classes visiting the residents at Flynn Lodge on a fortnightly basis.

Up and running
Before I came to Central Australia, Pastor Paul Albrecht gave me three pieces of advice. The first was to be kangkintja – a Western Arrarnta word for a kind and loving man. The second was to be a pastor and trust that people would soon get to know who I was and why I was there.

Synod offering supports hymnbooks
The offering from this year’s LCANZ Convention of General Synod in-person meetings is contributing more than $30,000 towards an FRM project producing, revising or reprinting Lutheran song and hymnbooks in Central Australian Aboriginal languages.

Christmas creativity at LCC
Lutheran Community Care (LCC) NT kicked off Children’s Week with a fabulous stall at the Alice Springs markets on 25 October. More than 80 children and their carers made photo frames to treasure and Christmas cards for our community Christmas drive later this year.

Hearing better the Indigenous voice
With the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) document in hand and copies of the RAP poster, Marilyn Wall returned to Central Australia in October. The purpose of her visit was to discuss how best to share this information with the Aboriginal members in the Lutheran communities.
