Finke River Mission
September 2019 marked the 70th anniversary of the dedication of the church building at Haasts Bluff, 220 kilometres west of Alice Springs.
In May a convoy of Finke River Mission (FRM) vehicles headed for the West MacDonnell Ranges in Central Australia to establish a base for meetings and community engagement.
Several hundred people had gathered from the communities of Mt Liebig, Haast’s Bluff, Kiwirrkurra and Papunya with their families to celebrate Christ’s resurrection.
A celebration Easter camp was held at the memorial site near Ikuntji. Western Desert families reflected on the Easter story through the study of God’s word, worship and song, fellowship and fun.
Haasts Bluff is 227 kilometres west of Alice Springs. The community lies on a rough dirt road leading to nowhere in particular. But something good is happening at Haasts Bluff.
