Nine siblings of the Smart family travelled to Titjikala from all over Australia to be with their extended Aboriginal family to lay a memorial stone on the grave of their foster brother, Lincoln ‘Brother’ Boko, who passed away in 2014.
Last year the ‘Hearts and Hands’ Women’s Fellowship of St Paul Lutheran Church, Blair Athol (SA), kindly donated a set of paraments to Titjikala Lutheran Church.
On 23 December 2018, Janie and Margaret Campbell were installed as church workers by Pastor Phillip Wilyuka and Malcolm Willcocks.
Palm Sunday 2017 saw eight men and women confirmed and one baptised at Titjikala Lutheran church, 120km South of Alice Springs.
Not a reindeer or snowflake in sight, but that doesn’t stop the Christmas story being celebrated or Christ coming to the hearts of his people once again.
At Hermannsburg the song ‘Kumbayah’ was sung in fifteen different languages at the same time. Eleven of those languages came from the hearts of the multi-Grammy award winning Soweto Gospel Choir.

In May, the world famous Soweto Gospel Choir’s Australian tour began in Central Australia with a visit to the predominantly Lutheran Areyonga community 200 kilometres west of Alice Springs.
