Synod offering supports hymnbooks
The offering from this year’s LCANZ Convention of General Synod in-person meetings is contributing more than $30,000 towards an FRM project producing, revising or reprinting Lutheran song and hymnbooks in Central Australian Aboriginal languages.

Indigenous pastor Frank Turner, ordained in 2000, from Ampilatwatja is currently the only person pastorally serving in the Alyawarr Language Area, about 3-4 hours drive from Alice Springs.

Alyawarr Lutherans mark 70th anniversary
Since 2017, representatives of the Lutheran congregations of the Sandover have been meeting at the main community Ampilatwatja for their annual regional conference. This year they met on the weekend of 12–13 September – later than usual, due to COVID-19.

Meet Pastor Darryl Mattner
Pastor Darryl Mattner was installed to work in the Anmatjere and Alyawarr region. The area is about three hours north-west, three hours north and about four hours north-east from Alice Springs.
